Indonesia saw it's fair share of war during WWII and the conflict with the Dutch for independence. Jim recorded some of the aviation left-overs of those times. These images are most likely from stops at Morotai.

Jim ran across some wrecked Douglas A20's. He test flew hundreds of the various versions of the A-20 during the war years. The #4228 is easily seen on the tail of one of these planes. Jim may have wondered if he had tested that plane, perhaps out of Clover or Long Beach, ten years before. His logs indicated that he had not.
