Really, it's all Roberta's fault. I had been attending the Chicago sailboat show held at Navy Pier for several years. At each visit I would talk with the Sunsail or Moorings reps about charter ownership. And, each time I'd come away wondering that there was something wrong with the deal (I buy the yacht, they pay me, I get a bunch of free sailing around the world, I get my boat back - hopefully in good shape). Then the 2008 show came around (always in the dead of winter) and Roberta said - where do we sign. Well, that did it - therefore it's all her fault. We bought a boat with the Moorings that we had not yet set eyes on and that was to be located at a place we had never been before - Belize. We bought a monohull - a Beneteau 40 that the Moorings calls a 41.3. A three cabin beauty of a sloop.
